The ToB X Zombie Poll

Zombies are everywhere in today’s films, TV, and literature. As we approach the 10th anniversary of the Tournament of Books, can the Rooster at least get a share of the credit?

The Tournament of Books X, presented by the groovy folks and notebooks of Field Notes, will officially begin in early March. As followers of the Tournament know well, we’ve featured a Zombie Round in the gameplay for many years. That’s when, toward the end of March, the top two audience favorites already eliminated in the tournament (their popularity previously decided in a poll) are brought back to life for a second chance at the prize.

Now is the time for that pre-Tournament poll, where you vote for your favorite book from our finalists. Voting closes next Tuesday, Jan. 28. One vote per person. And no, we’ve got no beef with authors, publishers, or fans who want to stoke the social-media flames in favor of their best-loved.

In the meantime, grab a copy of the finalists for a tasty 30 percent off—discount provided by our book sponsor Powell’s—and start reading. And keep an eye on TMN for further ToB updates—merchandise, events, and much more.

Very soon, we’ll all be moaning for BOOOOOOOOOOOOKS.

Update 1/29/2014: This poll is now closed.

Tournament commissioner Kevin Guilfoile is the author most recently of A Drive Into the Gap. Tournament color commentator John Warner’s debut novel The Funny Man was published by Soho Press in 2011. Tournament chairs Andrew Womack and Rosecrans Baldwin are TMN’s co-founders. Baldwin’s next novel, The Last Kid Left, is forthcoming from MCD/FSG (June 2017). Nozlee Samadzadeh is the ToB’s producer.
