Witold Riedel

Witold Riedel
TMN Contributing Artist Witold Riedel is a draftsman, photographer, and writer who explores the often-unfamiliar corners of the seemingly familiar universe. He was born in Poland, lived in Germany (in the city where the Grimm Brothers were born, actually) for many years, yet is a New Yorker by choice. He recently moved to Brooklyn. (He carries the bear with him most of the time, though not always, so don’t ask.)

The Bear in Helsinki

The bear heads abroad again, this time to Finland, where even a groundbreaking art exhibit can’t distract him from the cans of bear meat on grocery store shelves. A gallery of photographs from our smallest correspondent. (Galleries | February 1, 2006)

The Bear Goes to Paris

Paris is a delight for many travelers, even the very small and furry. Artist Witold Riedel brings us a gallery showcasing a short friend abroad in France, and translates a short interview. (Galleries | May 5, 2005)

The Bear

Traveling to see the world can provide fresh perspectives, especially if one’s view is less than two inches from the ground. Artist Witold Riedel brings us a gallery of a very small friend abroad in the world. (Galleries | January 4, 2005)

Seeds for the Pen

The city is always ours, and rarely itself, when there are as many New Yorks as New Yorkers. A gallery of images from the sketchbooks of subway-rider Witold Riedel, and a look into his thoughts on drawing. (New York, New York | January 5, 2004)

TODAY’S FEATURE
