Reader Letters

We receive lots of mail from readers. Most of it is flattering, some letters are angry, some are smart and point out our mistakes. We also get tirades about Iraq or gay marriage, and there have been a few come-ons, and many offers to enlarge our penises. All are read, and most are replied to. The few postcards have been nice. And so, a few of these letters, we think, should be made public, but we’ve never had a space for readers’ letters before, and we can’t want to publish all of them.

Right, whoop-de-doodle, count your chickens. For now, we will occasionally publish reader letters in this section until we find them another home. They will not be edited, altered, or embellished in any way except to protect the author. And just how they’re picked, we’ll leave up to your clever little brain. Here are two, one received yesterday, and another we got a long time ago that, had we real offices with walls, we would have taped above the coffeemaker.

That’s right, the U.S. government fucks up and you blame it all on the U.K. government. Way to go there, buddy.

Are you insinuating that the U.S. government is so stupid that it will do whatever the U.K. government suggests? Does the U.S. not have its own intelligence organisations?

I’m surprised they haven’t planted WOMD to Iraq to save face, but since they haven’t, they’ve probably got reasons. And did you ever wonder why, with all of the technology available today, the CIA still cannot find Saddam? It’s crap, the CIA will never find Saddam to make sure that money is continually pumped into their organisation(s).

The whole situation is pathetic. Don’t just take it out on the U.K. government. How will the U.S. government ever learn if you don’t criticize them and try to make sure they don’t make the same mistakes again? Oh wait, it will never learn because U.S. citizens back it blindly.

I can understand having pride in your country (even if it is blind pride), but blaming another country for a war that your leader wanted to start sooner (which Tony Blair stopped him from doing, by the way), is pathetic and wrong.

As a boy my father would take me to visit his froend in a little village which had its own fire and police and very small winding streets bordered by little on story houses facing the streets but each house backed to the sound and was at least four stoies reaching down to the shore in the rear and facing the sound. Is this village still there3? whats its name? Location..oh yes, it had its own mayor.
