Jubal-ation

The recipe for Confederate General Jubal Early’s favorite punch, the right drink to serve when your brother-in-law-to-be from North Carolina visits for the weekend and you decide to throw a party celebrating his sister’s birthday.

Ingredients
– 2 bottles brut champagne
– 3 cups brandy
– 2 cups Jamaican rum
– 2 quarts water
– 2 cups lemon juice
– 2 cups sugar

Directions
Mix brandy, rum, water, and lemon juice. Stir and add sugar. Dissolve. Cover and chill in the fridge for half an hour. Add ice and champagne just before serving; strain over plastic Dixie cups.

Goes very well with homemade ham biscuits.
